As the industry has increased, so have the spills, sprays, and ruptured lines that spread pollutants into cultivated land, pastures, bodies of water, and even roadways. Regardless of the location and the size, contamination is a problem, and in most cases immediate action is required.
In the past, there were only two ways of dealing with these environmental issues, neither one being conducive to cost effectively restoring the affected area. These methods included digging up the impacted soil and hauling it to an approved disposal area, or covering the contaminated soil, in hopes that there would be no penalties or reprimands from governing agencies.
Through new methodology, the founder of Remediation & Applied Technology, has developed bioremediation techniques that avoid both the “dig and haul” or covering up of contaminated soil, accelerating the site clean-up and quickly closing out reports. The HC (Hydro-carbon) Max products are a proprietary blend of surfactants specifically designed for cleaning and remediating hydrocarbons.
HC Max products and methods are an innovative cleaning technology that accelerates the natural biodegradation process found in nature to provide effective methods for cleaning and solving hydrocarbon-based problems or contamination.
HC Max products play two critical functions in the hydrocarbon cleaning or bioremediation process. First, it dramatically expands surface area of the hydrocarbon contamination thus making it more readily available to indigenous microbial population. HC Max accomplishes this by separating hydrocarbons into microscopic particles and wrapping each particle in HC Max and water. This is accomplished through the use of ionic surfactants. Ionic surfactants have 2 ends - one polar and the other non-polar. The polar end is water-soluble and the non-polar end is oil soluble. The non-polar end dissolves in oil droplets and attaches to the hydrocarbon molecules, leaving the polar end projecting into the surrounding area. Since polar ends are similarly charged, and like charges repel, they repel each other and prevent oil droplets from reforming. The hydrophilic polar ends will them attach to water, surrounding or wrapping hydrocarbon molecules in water. Secondly, HC Max bio stimulates and enhances the indigenous, hydrocarbon metabolizing bacteria so they can consume the hydrocarbon contaminant at an exponentially faster rate. This process works consistently with all hydrocarbons on any surface, including hydrocarbon VOC vapors.
HC Max 1 and 2™: a safe, non-toxic, general purpose dispersants, detergents, emulsifiers, and de-odorants for use in controlling and cleaning hydrocarbon spills, contamination by petroleum products and general purpose cleaning of most surfaces.
